The headline ultra. From a midnight start at Tai Lam Country Park you head out into the dark and in the new territories of Hong Kong — 84.7 kilometres and 4,638 metres of climbing that will carry you from one night into the next day. This is the long road, run by those who keep coming back to the distance.

You start in the dark. You finish having earned every metre.

The course runs seven checkpoints with a hard 24-hour cut-off at the finish. It is also available as a team-of-four relay for those who want to share the ridgeline. Pacers are permitted from the Fanling aid station to the finish under the rules below.

Mandatory Gear

  • Headlight / head torch (required at start; required again if leaving Bride's Pool after 5pm)
  • Emergency blanket
  • Working mobile phone
  • Photo ID or a copy
  • Advised: trail footwear & 1.5L hydration capacity

Pacers

  • Allowed from the Fanling aid station to the finish
  • Pacers must be 18+ and wear an official bib
  • Pacer bibs must be purchased in advance — one bib per race participant
  • Swap points at Luk Keng and Bride's Pool
  • No muling — pacers carry nothing for the runner

The Relay
